" Beauty is..."

Featuring Student Art from the local Santa Maria/Orcutt PTA Reflections Program! The PTA Reflections Program is a competitive arts

program for students from Kindergarten through High School. Each year there is a theme. This year’s theme is “Beauty is...”

They begin competition at the individual school level and can move on from there to Council (this is the local school

districts level), to District (County wide) to State and hopefully on to National to compete with Students across the nation.

The Town Center Gallery is honored to have our Featured Artists for the months of February & March with selected local students

from this program. We will have an opening reception in February in their honor!

Think Spring Studio-Garden Tour

It is that time again!  Please remember that as a returning artist to the Tour ( we save places for you), that you must pay your membership dues of $30.00 ( $40.00 for a family) before March first! That is a new guideline to eliminate issues at the time of the Tour. The committee is meeting and Lori and Jean will do a fantastic job as chairs!  If you want to be on the committee, please call Jean, Lori or me!  Help is needed. If you would like to be a HOST, please let us know NOW! The guidelines and the applications will be available in March or before. Please contact your host if you have questions. The Tour fee will be $30, you will receive 2 books valued at $10 each to sell or gift to clients or friends. DO NOT SEND YOUR FEE WITH YOUR DUES!!!  PLEASE> Your event fee must be sent in with your application. We need the dues paid in advance so there is NO CONFUSION! We need to set the list for guest artists and the Hosts and get the book underway as well as the website, so we need to do everything in order, please. If you want to participate and have no host, we will find you one. Be on time with your dues and applications because some hosts are all full. The Tour is not until the Saturday in June before fathers Day so you know we will be working on co ordination from day 1 and have to be on track. The committee works hard for this to be a successful event. There IS NO COMMISSION CHARGED ON SALE. EACH ARTIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COLLECTION AND PAYMENT OF ALL LOCAL AND COUNTY AND STATE TAXES, not the GUILD. If you feel you need a resale license, please obtain one and have it with you, we are not requiring resale as a prerequisite to participation. This is the only event that the Guild does not collect the taxes on sales because we do not collect commission! We would love volunteers. The Hosts work all year on this event to make their gardens stunning, It would be appreciated if you can work with the committee an meet the time frames. Thank you much,

I have made up a tax chart at 8.75% that is much easier to use than the standard chart if you price your items at even dollars.  It goes
from $1 to $355 in $1 increments with each line showing sale total, tax and sale+tax total.  I print it on heavy card stock and laminate
it.  Any of the artists who want one can email me (subject line "tax table", please) and I will plan on bringing them to the next couple
of Guild meetings.  Price is $1.50 for a laminated one and free for a print on plain paper.  I will only print as many as I get requests for.

The 2009 Annual Studio & Garden Tour in June and the Christmas Show last Nov. were successful.  Thanks to everyone who participated.

New members are always welcome.  The Guild meets monthly and holds annual events which contribute to the Los Padres Artist Guild Scholarship Fund. The Guild meets the 2nd Friday of each month, 7pm, in the Luis Oasis Senior Center, 420 Soares Ave., Old Orcutt.
